Is the alpha really free?+
Yes. You can play the current development build for free in your browser or as a Windows EXE. This does not determine anything about the eventual full version.
Do I need to install anything?+
Not for the browser version. Alternatively, download the EXE and launch it directly on your Windows PC. The alpha is not digitally signed yet, so Windows may warn you about an unknown publisher.
Where is my save stored?+
The browser version stores it locally in your browser's site data, which may disappear when browser data is cleared. The Windows version stores it under %APPDATA%\Godot\app_userdata\Sphere Keeper. You can export and back up your save from the settings.
How do I update?+
The browser version loads the current published build on your next visit. For Windows, back up your save, close the game, and replace the old EXE with the latest download.
Does it run on Steam Deck?+
A dedicated Linux or Steam Deck download is not part of this alpha release yet. You can already try the browser version and controller support there, but this is not a Steam Deck certification.
